Susanne grew up in Miami and made her way to the west coast when she attended the University of California at Berkeley. After graduation, she decided to stay in
the bay area to work as an IT consultant and project manager.
Kelvin grew up in the island of Penang, Malaysia and crossed the Pacific to the States to attend college at Washington State University. Kelvin just missed meeting Susanne (she had graduated) when he attended the University of California at Berkeley where he did his Masters in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he stayed in
the bay area and is currently a director of business development (whatever that means...no one really knows what he does at work... :) ) at a semiconductor company.

Us meeting each other was purely by chance. Cupid in many previous occasions have
made us close in proximity but without meeting. Then, chance had it where everything
came together at the right time, place and choice of actions to have us meet.
As silly and cheesy as it sounds... it was love at first sight when we set eyes on each
other when we met for our first date. Instantly, we felt as if we knew each other and the
conversations, smiles and laughters were endless during dinner and through the
evening. It was comfortable being around Susanne and we had such a great time.
It was not before long that we met again and again and again...

All by himself, Kelvin planned a two-week European vacation and kept it a secret from
me until it was time for us to board our flight. We began our travel in Zurich and Lucerne, Switzerland and ended up in the French Riviera (Nice). It was halfway into our vacation
while traveling in Venice, Italy when Kelvin proposed to me.
That morning of our engagement was just another sightseeing day for me - not knowing that Kelvin had already spent time scouting for the nicest gondola and a florist that was
not closed for siesta. We headed to our gondola ride and after a song from the gondolier,
Kelvin said some touching words to me and surprised me with a dozen of red roses that was hidden underneath the chair. Eleven roses for the eleven months that we had spent together and the twelfth rose for an eternal future together.
As I was admiring the roses, Kelvin got down on one knee on the gondola and presented me with a beautiful ring asking me if I would marry him. With giggles, calling him silly and all, I said 'Of course!' And being silly, he wouldn't accept anything but a definitive yes or no. So, I said 'Yes!'. And the gondolier began to serenade us with another romantic Venetian song.
The rest of the day was just endless happiness, laughter, and smiles. We couldn't stop
giggling... and that's what I enjoy most being with Kelvin. He makes me so happy that I
could never have imagined someone so right for me. I am excited to share the rest of
my life with him.
