B+.  We selected the Omni Colonnade because we love the architecture and decor of the interior. We love the high ceilings, open foyer space, and especially the long aisle for the ceremony - all in all, something different from your standard ballroom. The place looked amazing once decorated and gave a modern and colonial feel to our style of wedding.

We missed most of our cocktail hour but did get to taste a couple of the hors d'oeuvres, and they were yummy! I wanted to skip my appetizer for more hors d'oeuvres. I was disappointed in the entree as compared to the night of the tasting. At the tasting it was perfect, but on the wedding night I felt the fish was a bit salty, the sirloin was tough (it was so tender at the tasting that it was like filet mignon), and I heard the stuffed chicken was dry.  The rest of the meal was okay.

Service was okay as well - nothing extraordinary.  I felt the servers were not very gentle with the service because on a few occasions I could hear dishes falling on the floor and clinging together. My uneaten sorbet spilled on the table while I was out of my seat and no one bothered to ask if I wanted a new one or to clean it up.  I felt that the servers could have paid a little more attention.

We also ordered an AV package to present our slideshow during the reception.  The AV person never showed up to setup for the wedding. The hotel coordinator was no help here in getting someone to help us out.  There was also no one to take our laptop to setup and play the slideshow during our dinner. We ended up having to get someone from the wedding party to setup the laptop and play the slideshow.

The hotel coordinator was pleasant to work with and was agreeable to most of our requests.  She was more timely with her responses and made herself accessible as the wedding got closer.  Overall, she was a good coordinator and tried to help us where she could.

A.   Not affiliated with any church or religion finding a personable officiant was difficult and the last thing on our list.  Frank was personable, easy-going, and gave us a ceremony just as we wanted.  Frank also gave us some pointers and advice on our planning.  If you are looking for a no-fuss
officiant,  Frank is perfect for the job.

We used Gina for my sister's wedding and again she did a great job for my own wedding. My bridesmaids look beautiful in their half-up dos and the makeup was natural as I wanted for them. For myself, she did a great job as well and I didn't even have a trial. Considering my hair was only shoulder length, she was able to make an updo that looked like I had the amount of hair for it. My makeup was also very natural. Gina was easy-going and was open to what we wanted. She took a little too much time at the beginning but was able to speed things up when we saw time was running out.

The process to order tuxes from Formal 1 was pretty painless.  They got all the tux sizes right and they fit on the guys without a problem.  The only minor complaint was that they were a bit wrinkled and had to be ironed before wearing.

A.
The process to order my wedding gown was also pretty painless.  The guy who took my order was very pleasant and helpful.  They also respond to email quite quickly - within 48 hours.  My dress arrived in a few weeks earlier than estimated and it was in perfect condition and barely wrinkled.

B+.
The process to order the bridesmaid's dresses was simple and a pleasure.  Netbride.com did a great job in staying connected with me on my order status and questions that I had over email.  The dresses came in a few weeks earlier than expected, but upon inspection one of the dress had a long snag on the front.  I sent it back and Netbride.com helped me to fix to where it was like new.  But that process was somewhat frustrating and difficult in getting someone to respond and give me status.

Mei Mei offers quite a good selection of off-the-rack dresses.  The lady is really nice about letting you try on as many dresses as you want but she pressures a bit on the sale.  My cheongsam was purchased at a reasonable price because you can negotiate with her.  She also allowed me to exchange my dress later when I saw another style that I liked.  And alterations are free!

A-.  The florist is a mixed review because in some ways I was really happy with the work but in other ways I was disappointed (because I spent so much time envisioning how my floral decor would be).  In the end, my guests thought the flowers were beautiful and it was only I that knew what was missing.

I have to admit that Jorge did do a beautiful job on everything.  The bouquets were amazing! I love them!  I knew exactly what I wanted for the bridesmaids bouquet but for myself I didn't and left it up to Jorge to create something nice for me since I could not get peonies (they were not in season). He exceeded my expectations here.  He was able to make a bouquet that tailored to my style and it was just perfect (when I couldn't even find a picture of what I wanted after countless hours of researching online). The corsages and boutonnieres were really nice as well and met my expectations.  The centerpiece on the placecard table was another all-time best - I loved it!

The centerpieces, aisle and cake decor were still very nice but fell short of my expecta- tions because it was not as what we discussed.  The aisle pieces did not have a pillar candle in the middle (it was just a floral piece) so I didn't get candlelight during the ceremony and later on the fountain. The rose centerpieces were not suppose to have any greens in them - it was suppose to be somewhat like a topiary. Also, the tables were suppose to have some flowers on the table top but there were none. The cake was nice but I felt there was not enough flowers between each layer and the height was not there. In my wedding photos, you can even see the white pillars between the layers.

All this bloopers might be due to miscommunication/misunderstanding because I don't speak any Spanish and it was often times difficult to convey to Jorge what and how I wanted things.  I would still highly recommend Jorge but I would suggest you make sure he take down all the notes of what you want for your wedding day.

Jorge is a very nice guy, easy-going, and aims to please. He can be hard to get ahold of and does not work well on the phone (in English) or through email. His prices are very reasonable for the quality of work.

The cake tasted fabulous and looked very nice.  I still crave for the wedding cake once in a while and can't wait to order one for our 1st anniversary.  I booked them on the spot after the tasting and didn't bother to try anywhere else. The cake was flavourful and moist. The staff was also very helpful in answering my questions and helping me with what I wanted.

We selected Leyani because she has a really nice selection of linen and many to choose from.  She also can do the draping really nicely at the Omni.  Everything was done very beautifully for the wedding!  The only thing about this vendor is that some times it was difficult to work with them on the phone because again we don't speak Spanish .

The extra soft lights for the wedding gave it an added touch to the decor and a romantic feel to the whole wedding.  The prices of the lights was also reasonable.  However, they failed to include 2 lights at the front of the reception room and now we are having a hard time contacting them and they won't return our call to get a refund on it.

Ho Tai has really good prices for invitations, but the selection and customization can be limited to what they can do and provide.  We got lots of compliments on our invitation and the paper quality was really impressive.  Depending on who is helping you, the service can be not so friendly.

We sent a prototype to Malaysia to have our fan programs made.  We were nervous about how it would turn out and the quality of it.  When we got it, we were thrilled with how well it came out and the quality of it.  The printer exceeded our expectations!  We are so proud of our program.

We ordered our favors from Hong Kong because they provided a nicer selection and better price.  Ordering the favors was a simple process and everything was great.  The lady who took the order was really nice and helpful.

A+.  Rich did an excellent and great job on our photographs (we did not order an album).  His style is reasonably artistic and journalistic though we asked to have quite a bit of formal photos taken as well.  About 90% of the photographs were well-lit and not dark.

Rich is personable, very professional and has an overall good attitude while on the job.  Rich is flexible and stays cool and calm when there were schedule changes at the last minute.  He is also very accommodating and easy-going as demonstrated when he graciously allowed my guests to take pictures before he takes his (which was very smart of him).

Surprisingly, Rich was also taking the time to offer professional coaching tips to a semi-professional friend of mine who was taking photos along side of him the whole night.

Knowing that we are from out-of-town and he having to go out-of-town the next week, Rich rushed our photo development and we got our photographers in a week!  Rich also was very accommodating and helped us to resolve a slight miscommunication problem when all our photos were developed in black-and-white when we had wanted them in developed in color.

Overall, we would without a doubt recommend Rich (and my semi-professional friend told me he would recommend Rich without a hitch).

B+.  We selected Top Ten because my sister used them last year for her own wedding.  Her video came out really nice and much better than we expected.  Her video had overall good coverage and captured all the important moments and even some which were missed by the bride and groom.

The videographer on the day of was un-noticeable - which is a good thing for a videographer.  He was very professional and did not require much attention.

However, we do not care much for the guy who answers the phone at Top Ten (don't want to mention any names).  He is nice and friendly before the sell, but once he got our contract, he does not want to spend a lot of time with us and was the only vendor who called when the next installment of payment was due.

We have not gotten our video back yet and cannot provide a complete review at this time.

A+.   Ubi was great! He was very easy going and accommodating in working with us remotely as we planned our wedding from San Francisco.  He played almost every song on our request list, and was able to judge the crowds reaction to different types of music.  He was also very flexible to changes in the schedule and was able to adjust accordingly.  Another highly recommended vendor.

Our engagement photos came out nicely.  Every thing on the day of the shoot was great and fun. The hair and makeup artist there did a great job on me.  But it took them three months to give us the final album.  They almost did not finish it in time for our wedding despite us telling them many times when we need it by.  Perhaps, because of the rush, the color of the prints in the album seemed a bit too solid and unnatural.  You'll need a lot of patience to work with this vendor.

Si is a wonderful and talented lady who does excellent work. It was easy to talk to Si about what I wanted as she respects my opinion but at the same time offer her own professional thought without being pushy. My dress was very difficult to alter given all the hand-beading and pattern work on the front and back of the bodice. Si was the first and only one to recognize the value of all this and came up with a clever way to alter my dress without disturbing or compromising the original design. She definitely works to make sure we look good in our gown while taking care of it as though it was one of her own design. She does all this at a reasonable price. A couple of my bridesmaids also used Si for their alterations and were very happy.  I highly recommend Si to anyone.
